CVMC President and CEO Judy Tarr recently announced that Dr. Sameer Shetty has been named Hospitalist Medical Director.
Hospitalists are physicians whose primary specialty is dealing with complicated hospital medicine. CVMC’s Hospitalist Service allows primary care providers to focus on giving optimal care to patients in the office and having a colleague to take care of patients in the hospital.
Dr. Shetty has his MD in Pediatrics from Kasturba Medical College in Karnatak, India. He did his Internal Medicine internship at Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and his residency at North Shore /Long Island Jewish University Hospital at Forest Hills, NY. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
He met his wife, Bindu, an American student in medical school in India. They moved to the states after graduation. She is also a physician studying for her boards. The Shettys have two children, Devin, five –years –old and Rohan, three-years-old.
“I am pleased to be moving my family to Montpelier, a small, personal community where you can get to know your neighbors,” said Dr. Shetty. “I look forward to spending my free time with my children and bicycling and playing basketball.”
